Is Brasil The Next Libya?

Everyone corruption isn't a victimless crime. When a politician or bureaucrat is bribed, a few people get richer and a lot of people suffer (not only poor people.) Despite how clever and hidden the bribes are, the public knows. Confidence in the integrity of the political process collapses. Brasil is in a huge corruption crisis. The current president is about to be removed from office. The most popular former president was convicted of serious criminal bribery. My wife Elena describes Brasil as in a leadership vacuum. She compares Brasil today to Libya. I'm not that pessimistic about Brasil. Keep an eye on the mayor of Sao Paulo. I describe him as "the Michael Bloomberg of Brasil." Some people compare him to Trump. This is not accurate. He is far more intelligent than Trump and has genuine empathy for people.
