When I was very young, a woman generally only made it to medical school if her father was a very powerful doctor. She would be expected to be a pediatrician or gynecologist. The male students would resent her and make life hard for her. Now the majority of medical school graduates in most parts of the world are women. Be proud of what you accomplished. Please never forget the brave and determined women who came before you (including Elena) to open these doors for you and your colleagues.
